POSTDOC ASSISTANT POSITIONS in NEURONAL CELL BIOLOGY available in ITALY

A two-year postdoctoral position is available from December 2022, in the laboratory lead by Marianna Leonzino, at the Institute of Neuroscience of CNR (Italy).

The project is funded by the Cariplo and Telethon Alliance and aims at disclosing the molecular function of the VPD13D protein, whose mutations lead to a very severe form of Ataxia, aka SCAR4. Our approach combines CRISPR-based gene editing, with imaging, biochemistry, proteomics and functional studies on cell lines and iPSCs-derived neurons.

The laboratory resides at the Humanitas Neurocenter, in Rozzano a small town in the outskirt of Milano, where also Humanitas University and Humanitas Research Hospital are located. The presence of these three entities contributes to a dynamic and vibrant scientific environment and provides access to state-of-the art facilities.

Candidates must hold a PhD degree in a relevant field. A strong background in neuronal cell biology and experience with iPSCs, proteomics and confocal microscopy are highly appreciated. Image analysis and familiarity with bioinformatics are a plus. We look for an enthusiastic and dependable candidate, who is able to work in a team as well as independently.

Informal inquiries should be e-mailed to marianna.leonzino@in.cnr.it. Application should be submitted before the 14th November 2022 following instructions on the official call.
