RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITIONS in NEURONAL CELL BIOLOGY available in ITALY

A research assistant position is available from December 2022, in the laboratory lead by Marianna Leonzino, at the Institute of Neuroscience of CNR (Italy).

The laboratory resides at the Humanitas Neurocenter, in Rozzano a small town in the outskirt of Milano, where also Humanitas University and Humanitas Research Hospital are located. The presence of these three entities contributes to a dynamic and vibrant scientific environment and provides access to state-of-the art facilities.

The project is funded by the Cariplo and Telethon Alliance and aims at disclosing the molecular function of the VPD13D protein, whose mutations lead to a very severe form of Ataxia, aka SCAR4. Our approach combines CRISPR-based gene editing, with imaging, biochemistry, proteomics and functional studies on cell lines and iPSCs-derived neurons.

A MSc degree in a relevant field is a mandatory requirement for this position. Ideal candidates would be highly motivated, have extensive experience with molecular biology techniques and cell cultures and be familiar with basic biochemistry methodologies. We strongly value attention to details, dependability and team working.

Informal inquiries should be e-mailed to marianna.leonzino@in.cnr.it. Application should be submitted before the 15th November 2022 following instructions on the official call.
