Dear MNS members,
The Nominating Committee (NC) of the MNS is responsible for the organization of elections for new council members. It is with great pleasure that we announce the forthcoming elections to be held during the 2025 meeting, which will take place from the 7th to the 11th of June in Chania, Crete Greece.
The elections are scheduled to take place online from 9:00 am on Monday June 9th until 15:00 on Tuesday June the 10 th (Greek time). Please note that ONLY members who have paid their dues for the 2025 calendar year are eligible to vote.
The following positions are to be filled in the forthcoming elections:
1 Vice-President and 2 Council Members.
The procedure will be conducted in two stages:
1) STEP 1: CALL FOR CANDIDACIES
a) A “Form of Intent” must be completed by MNS Regular Members who wish to stand as candidates in the elections and submitted to the Secretary-General no later than 30th May 2025. The form must include a short CV and a “Profession of Faith” outlining the candidate’s motivations. You can download the form from the CALL FOR CANDIDACIES page, accessible via your dashboard after login. Submitting the form represents a dual commitment:
1. To attend MNS meetings;
2. To actively contribute to the Society’s activities, including participation in Council meetings.
b) The Nominating Committee will compile four shortlists (one for each scientific section) based on the submitted applications:
1. Candidates for Section 1, for election of 1 Councilor
2. Candidates for Section 2, for electionof 1 Councilor
3. Candidates for Vice-President
c) The Nominating Committee will prepare the election materials, including the list of candidates and instructions for online voting.
2) STEP 2: ONLINE ELECTION AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY
a. The General Assembly (GA) will take place on 10th June 2025 from 18:30 to 19:30, local time.
b) The online election will open at 09:00 on 9th June 2025. Members will be asked to cast their votes before the GA via a dedicated platform on the MNS website.
The newly elected councilors will be announced at the GA.
Following the GA, the Council will convene to designate the members of the new Executive Bureau, in accordance with the Society’s bylaws and rulebook.
