About the Speaker:
Professor Sergueï O. Fetissov received his medical and surgical training at the Medical Military Academy in St Petersburg and obtained his PhD in Physiology from the Koltzov Institute of Developmental Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, alongside additional training at Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris.

His academic career has included research appointments at the Collège de France, Upstate Medical University, Karolinska Institutet, and currently the University of Rouen Normandy. His research focuses on the neurobiology of appetite regulation, with particular interest in peptide hormone signaling, microbiota, the immune system, and brain communication.

His work contributed to developing the first probiotic aimed at appetite regulation through molecular mimicry involving the bacterial protein ClpB produced by Hafnia alvei. His current research investigates new therapeutic approaches for eating disorders, obesity, and autism.
